The Other Little Miss Potter

I loved the Film 'Miss Potter' which opened this week in Oz.

The latest in a line of Bio-Pics that have bled into the cinema of late and staring Rene no less.

The Film manages to take a look at Beatrix Potters life in from when she first started writing her childrens books (with a couple of flashbacks to her childhood) until her move to Cumbria and freedom from the bustle of london.

The Story manages to weave the eccentricity of Potter herself (talking to nicely animated versions of her own characters) through a whirlwind, if cinematic romance with her Bookmaker (Ewan McGregor) and into a magical story that talks about love, class and money in early Georgian London.

Beatrix is played well by Rene, once again doning an english accent (A lot better than the Tripe of American accented french in Marie Antoinette, but still a wierd choise considering all the talented British actresses) who manage to capture a woman thinking outside her alotted Box.

The secondary cast is great and complements the Mains well giving a solid, well made film.

4/5 I loved it. the Right Mix of everything.

Sounds like it might be good. I will overcome my aversion to animated rabbit-type whimsy and check it out.

Renee got the role because of all the Brit actresses who would be within cooee - only Kate Winlett (I call her by her footy name, Winsy) is anywhere near as bankable as RZ.

Big stars get your film greenlit - as well as driving up your film's overall budget to accomodate their massive salaries - but that's a story for another time, children.
